Hi all,

Ok, here’s the editing exercise to be completed upon your composition “Hope”:

  1. Tenses: As this is either a narrative or personal recount, please make sure your verbs are in the PAST TENSE :)
  2. Sentence Seperation: Ensure that your sentences are not like a train (with multiple commas)… at this level, you can have at max 2 commas, and probably 1 conjunction :)
  3. Spelling: If unsure of certain words, circle it out and REPLACE it with a word you are confident of using and spelling :) Then check the dictionary for the spelling and definition of the original word you wanted to use :)

Let’s just edit these 3 areas for now :) Kindly tag your previous composition (vindictive) to your new essay and hand up to Aloysius on Monday :) Aloysius, please collect in registry order for me :) Thanks!

Have a great weekend guys!

Alex

Hi all,

Here’s the shortened vocab list: vocab-list-02 and the starting paragraphs of our composition: dispirited :)

As I’m not seeing you all on Friday (CNY celebrations), Aloysius, kindly collect and return to me :)

Good stuff all!

Hi guys!

We had a good (or great!) lesson today… am very heartened to hear all the various input from you!

I’ve attached the composition we were discussing today here: that-good-feeling. Please continue to decontruct it :)

Some pointers may be:

1. What is the writer actually feeling?

2. What kind of a woman is the writer’s ex?

3. Why do you think things didn’t work out between them?

4. What are some of the literary devices the writer used to create the effects in the piece?

These are all guiding questions; feel free to post your thoughts, comments, opinions, and what nots here!

Have fun!

Alex
