    yo mr.alex… how’s everyone doing???

i have a question: why is there, at times, the word “and” after the comma??? [this is to question 8 of ex. 104] i don’t really quite get it… why do they put the comma there for when they know its gonna be a co-ordinating conjunction (in this case “and”) to continue and complete that sentence?

feel free to answer to 5a1!!!

    regards, rey…XD

Dear Rey (and all who are listening in!),

I believe that the reason why there is a comma in front of the co-ordinating conjunction “and” is because the second main clause was thrown in as an afterthought… meaning that the writer did not intend to include it until halfway through the sentence :) The comma causes a “jitter” in the reading, which may indicate an afterthought :)

Hope this is useful to all :) Final call for files to save my behind :)

    Alex
